I have always loved Limoncello so when I was given a big bag of lemons – and remembered there was a bottle of vodka somewhere in the garage – I decided to try making some. It was absurdly easy and an incredibly delicious result. I can’t wait ti invent some lemony deserts to serve with it. And I’d like to find the liqueur glasses (also somewhere in the garage).

It was so successful I also made a batch with limes and called it Limoncello Verde.

I don’t think the lemon trees we have planted are going to fruit anytime soon.

But there are two Seville oranges almost ripe, enough for one pot of marmalade. Perhaps.
