Rain in the night

Nov 14, 2021

It rained so heavily in the night that no-one wants to go anywhere, including us. The weekend papers are not all doom and gloom for once. The llamas are sheltering under the totara after a little snack of leftover celery which some of them seem to enjoy more than others.

A host of little silver-eyes have been feasting on insects so small I can’t tell what they are. They are too quick and flighty for me to be able to photograph. They must be doing a great job ( significantly reduced aphids on the roses) and they love perching on the structures we have made for peas and beans.

We had a great dinner with friends last night. I have finally found and unpacked most of the china and glasses that had mysteriously vanished in the depths of the garage. I’m still searching for my sewing machine and the rest of the blender.
