Abundant bug day

Jan 6, 2022

It all started off with me being bitten by a giant weta just as I was about to go for a swim! Ouch! It left big pincer bites.

We have had a few unusual encounters. Some of the spiders we find are really enormous.

And the stick insects come in an amazing array of colours. The brown and black and beige ones can be hard to spot. The iridescent green ones are absolutely spectacular.

Every corner hides a dusty beetle. I thought the one in the laundry was dead before I went to pick it up.

So the next project is to focus on plants that will attract butterflies, not cabbage whites.

After all the excitement the hot tub was calling.
