A gelding day for Sunny

Nov 17, 2021

Sunny was quite happy to be haltered up this morning and go for a walk with Shadow and Julia, his Mum. He was getting a bit bored by the time the vet arrived. Julia really enjoyed the oversize buttercups on the drive. Shadow got a bit restless so we put her back in the paddock.

Sunny went out like a light with the anaesthetic and I don’t think he felt a thing.

Procedure in process, one ball to go

He snored terribly and was very limp and cuddly when he came to again.

Waking up slowly

He is now back with the herd, eating grass and looking completely fine. He didn’t even mind me lifting his tail to check for bleeding. He will have a blue bottom for a few days.

In the meantime the carrot weed is growing higher every day. Apparently the pukekos like it. Go pukeko!

The meadow

We are getting a few more strawberries every day, the birds haven’t spotted them yet.
