Thrush rescue

Jan 2, 2022

While we having coffee we heard an ominous ‘thonk’ on the window. A young thrush was completely stunned and seemed floppy and lifeless to begin with, a little reiki and a rest under the rimu revived the little bird and he had flown away by the time we checked. Cats were completely disinterested, visiting dog curious, our dogs tired after their walk.

We seem to have lot of magpie fledglings at the moment. We can hear them screeching incessantly and their poor parents look exhausted keeping up with the feeding schedule.

Clover and Carmen are doing well. Little Carmen is starting to play with the other cria and her ears are perking up.

Hagrid is now an accepted member of the herd. He even comes to visit in the morning and completely ignores Clary’s silly circles as she attempts herd him.
