Naughty Spangles, happy hens

Sep 19, 2022

Spangles has not learned that he is not allowed in the house and I found him eating my hat. He had to be lured out with treats. There has been a lot of orgling activity- so most likely some cria in 11 1/2 months.

The hens were very appreciative of the totara branch pruned off to make way for the office. They are going back into their house to lay eggs, mostly. Sid rooster is very protective and rushes to check up when he hears the laying clucks. He is crowing now, letting me know it’s time to let them out.

The garden continues to produce salad ingredients, snow peas, white radish, baby spinach and coriander. I even picked the few tomatoes from the greenhouse. I potted up a couple of self seeded plants and they have really taken off.
